The tutorial area for the player in Project Phantom. I sculpted and painted all the assets in this area, using Zbrush to add chip and wear to ancient stone structures and debris. Assets were baked down and painted using Substance with custom smart materials, having been mapped and unwrapped using Maya. I was also in charge of all lighting and FX in Ue4.
The ground fog material was a custom solution utilizing help from JangaFX. It effectively creates a stack of planes with a scrolling and continuously clamped mask to simulate volume. It is relatively inexpensive if used in smaller spaces such as the checkpoint area in the shots above.
